Smart dictation turns speech into tidy text. Instead of a word-for-word transcript with every "um" and every sentence you started over, Mesakem types what you meant to write: clear, punctuated sentences, filler words gone and your spoken correction applied. It works in any text field on your computer, not inside a single app.

Hold Right Ctrl and speak
On a Mac, Right Option. Rather not hold a key? Press Ctrl+Alt+D (⌃⌥D on a Mac) to start, and again to stop.
Let go, and the text is typed

Does the dictation clean up my text?
Yes. By default Mesakem turns what you said into clear sentences, adds punctuation, applies the corrections you make while speaking ("no, actually…") and removes filler words. It never adds facts, never answers a question you dictate, and keeps the language you spoke. If you'd rather keep your words exactly as spoken, choose "Light cleanup only" in the dictation settings.
Does voice typing work in any app?
Yes, in any app on your computer with a text field: email, WhatsApp Web, your CRM, Word, Slack and the browser. The text is typed where your cursor is. If an app doesn't allow pasting, the text is copied and you paste it yourself.
How do I start voice typing on Windows and Mac?
On Windows, hold Right Ctrl, speak and let go. On a Mac, hold Right Option. You can also press Ctrl+Alt+D (⌃⌥D on a Mac) to start, and again to stop. Both shortcuts can be changed in the app's dictation settings.
Does it work in Hebrew?
Yes. Smart dictation works in Hebrew and English, including English terms inside a Hebrew sentence, with proper Hebrew punctuation.
Is the audio stored?
No. Mesakem never keeps the recording. Only the text of your last 20 dictations is kept, on your computer only, so you can copy it again.
Is smart dictation free?
Yes. Smart dictation is included in Mesakem's Free plan: 60 minutes a month, no credit card. On every paid plan, a paid plan's trial included, it is unlimited. The minutes renew at the start of each month, Israel time.
What happens when the free minutes run out?
On the Free plan, after 60 minutes in a month dictation pauses until the next month starts; the rest of Mesakem keeps working as usual. Upgrade to a paid plan to keep dictating without a limit.
Do I need a special microphone?
No. Dictation uses the microphone your computer is set to: the built-in one, a headset or an external microphone.
Does it work on my phone?
Not yet. Smart dictation is in the Mesakem desktop app, on Windows and Mac.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. Speech is turned into text and tidied up on our servers, so dictation doesn't work offline.
